Since
my first bicycle tour to India in 2017 (from Chennai to Kochi) I’ve always
wanted to go back for more. It was one of the best tours I’ve done. So, when I
received an email from one of my UK mates, Baz (Simon), who is the organiser
for the Asian trips, I immediately responded with “count me in”. This tour
would be from Mumbai to Goa. I didn’t really have a clue where it was in India
nor did I think it mattered; I was just happy to be going back. Mike (owner of
the tour company) told us that it was “fairly flat”, unlike the last tour which
was hilly. I didn’t think that the first tour was particularly hilly actually,
but I still put my order in for an e-bike. I know I could do it on a normal
bike but what the heck, why not spoil myself. I’m certainly glad I did as it
was the hilliest tour I’ve ever undertaken; and that’s no exaggeration. As
usual my efficient and faithful booking clerk did all the airline bookings and
helped me work out some extra days before and after the tour. Luckily my Mate
from Canberra, Bob, also said yes to the tour.
